Apprenticeship summary
We are looking for an apprentice maintenance operative who will be a hands-on all-rounder. They will learn skills in maintenance/repairs/painting/cleaning and general preparation for our hire fleet of portable cabins to a high standard.

Intermediate
Maintenance and Preparation of Portable Cabins :
- Cleaning – internal/external
- Painting – internal with paint rollers & brushes including vinyl wallboards & ceilings, doors/external steel with rollers & brushes plus paint sprayer use when weather permits
- Plumbing – repairs/new fits of kitchen sinks, toilets, basins, urinals, showers, drainage to external
- Electrical – replacement of fittings, heaters, sockets, lights etc. to then be tested by qualified electrician
- Roofing – basic weatherproofing/repairs – always under supervision and at single storey height with PPE and harness
- Furniture – assembly from flat pack/pre-built – fitting to kitchen canteen areas/bathroom areas
- Joinery – as and when required for kitchen/bathroom/office areas
- Stock Maintenance – keep an up to date list of materials/fittings etc.
- Yard Maintenance – ensure the yard is tidy and equipment is housed correctly
- Property Maintenance Operative Level 2
- Weekly day release into college setting
- Work towards functional skills maths & English (if applicable)
- As we are a small team the progression would be from apprentice to maintenance operative/foreman/manager
- The position would be more client facing with progression – to site callouts where the employee would be representing the company and our high standards
