Job Description

An inclusive mainstream primary school in Bootle is seeking a nurturing and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to support children within an EYFS setting, including outdoor learning in a forest school environment. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting young children through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences. The Role
• Support teaching and learning within an EYFS classroom and forest school provision
• Work 1:1 and with small groups, adapting support to meet individual needs
• Assist in delivering play-based and outdoor learning activities
• Support children’s communication, social development, and early learning skills
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment, both indoors and outdoors
• Support daily routines, including transitions and outdoor sessions The Ideal Candidate
• Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification (or similar)
• Has experience working with young children, ideally in EYFS
• Enjoys outdoor learning and understands the benefits of forest school approaches
• Is patient, nurturing, and proactive
• Can build positive relationships with children and staff Requirements
• References covering the last 5 years
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete)
