The Opportunity

A highly regarded and successful state secondary school in Wirral is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Female PE Teacher to join its thriving Physical Education department.

We are looking for an inspiring teacher who can encourage pupils to develop physical confidence, resilience, teamwork and a lifelong commitment to healthy and active lifestyles.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach Physical Education across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach KS5 for the right candidate

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across a range of sports and physical activities

  • Support pupils in developing fitness, teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship

  • Prepare pupils for GCSE PE examinations (where applicable)

  • Encourage participation and achievement in school sport and inter-school competitions

  • Support pupils of all abilities, including those requiring additional guidance

  • Contribute to extra-curricular sports clubs, fixtures and school sporting events

  • Play an active role in the wider pastoral and enrichment life of the school

As with all roles within the school, the successful candidate will contribute fully to the school’s extra-curricular programme and sporting calendar.

The Person

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • A strong background in Physical Education or a related discipline

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience teaching PE at secondary level

  • The ability to motivate pupils and deliver engaging practical lessons

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • A willingness to contribute to extra-curricular sport and school events

  • A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
