Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Design and Technology (DT) Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design, engineering, or related fields, and a commitment to fostering creativity and innovation in our students. The DT Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that develop students' practical skills, problem-solving abilities, and understanding of design principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality DT lessons that inspire and challenge students.
- Teach a range of DT topics, including but not limited to product design, electronics, textiles, and engineering.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to explore their creativity.
- Assess student progress through a variety of methods, providing constructive feedback and support for improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular projects and enrichment opportunities.
- Stay up to date with developments in DT education and industry trends, integrating relevant advancements into the curriculum.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parent consultations, and school events as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in design, Engineering, Education, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
- Proven experience teaching DT at the secondary level, with a track record of student success.
- Strong knowledge of DT curriculum frameworks and assessment practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities.
