Junior Merchandiser

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Junior Merchandiser to join our growing team at Montirex, an outdoor sportswear brand based in Liverpool. You will report directly into the Senior Merchandiser and be responsible for strategically driving the department forward through effective planning, range building and trading.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Complete and own weekly trading analysis for your department, providing key performance indicators relating to stock, profit and markdown and providing clear actions and recommendations to Senior Merchandiser.
  • Review over and under performance at product level, making informed recommendations for action, ensuring potential is met, and risks are managed in a timely manner.
  • Plan and manage a WSSI at department and sub-cat level - forecasting demand, OTB, returns and margin whilst identifying both opportunities and potential risks to stock.
  • Manage line cards to maintain core availability, suggesting and managing rebuys of core styles.
  • Create category level frameworks and product mix plans to drive department growth.
  • Conduct detailed ad-hoc analysis when required to support Senior Merchandiser.
  • Provide in-depth seasonal analysis which will form the strategy and lessons learnt for future seasons, in conjunction with the wider product team.
  • Working alongside design and wider product team for product selections and range building, ensuring it aligns with company objectives, customer demand and financial targets.
  • Manage Order Raising process, ensuring PO’s align with buy plan at sign off and ratios are accurate for all buys.
  • Manage the critical path, stock ordering process and delivery schedules – working closely with suppliers to ensure deliveries are on time for launches.
  • Support with the development of junior members of team.
  • Establish collaborative working relationships within the merchandising team and across function.

About You

  • Specific experience in fashion retail merchandising, either as an established Assistant Merchandiser looking for your next step or already working at Junior Merchandiser level.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Advanced planning and analytical skills, including strong excel skills.
  • Good judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Confidence in suggesting calculated risks.
  • High level of accuracy.
  • Strong customer awareness and understanding.
  • Passionate about product, strong market and brand awareness.
  • Enthusiasm and determination to thrive in a fast-growing business.

Salary/Package
