We are working closely with Wirral MBC to assist with the appointment of a SENDSTART Caseworker, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £26.00 - £33.82 per hour
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced SENDSTART Caseworker to coordinate Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessments and reviews for children and young people aged 0–25. The role involves working closely with families, schools, and multi-agency professionals to ensure high-quality, person-centred EHCPs are completed within statutory timescales while supporting positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the EHC assessment and review process for children and young people aged 0–25
- Act as the main point of contact for parents, carers, and young people throughout the EHCP process
- Prepare and review Education, Health and Care Plans in line with statutory requirements
- Work collaboratively with schools, health, social care, and voluntary sector professionals
- Ensure children, young people, and families are fully involved in the assessment process
Essential Requirements:
- Educated to degree level
- Detailed knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice
- Strong understanding of SEND Tribunal (SENDIST) procedures
- Experience working with children and young people with SEND
- Experience leading multi-agency meetings
- Experience writing person-centred plans and professional reports
- Experience working in partnership with education, health, and social care professionals
