Job Type: Full-time / Part-time (flexible)

Overview
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Nursery Assistant to join our early years team in Runcorn. You will support the delivery of high-quality childcare, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged 0–5 years.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day care and supervision of children in the nursery
- Assist in planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities
- Help create a safe, clean, and welcoming learning environment
- Observe children’s development and report progress to senior staff
- Promote children’s social, emotional, and physical development
- Assist with feeding, toileting, and personal care routines
- Work in line with safeguarding, health and safety, and Ofsted requirements
- Build positive relationships with children, parents/carers, and colleagues
- Set up and tidy away activities and learning resources
Skills and Experience
- A genuine passion for working with young children
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Patient, caring, and enthusiastic attitude
- Basic understanding of child development (desirable)
- Previous nursery or childcare experience (preferred but not essential)
- Ability to follow policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (desirable)
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Paediatric First Aid (desirable, training may be provided)
Compliance Requirements
- Enhanced DBS check (required)
- Right to work in the UK
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
