Assistant Management Accountant
Bootle | £30,000 - £35,000 + Study Support | 1 Day Working From Home

We're recruiting for an exciting Assistant Management Accountant opportunity with a growing and forward-thinking business based in Bootle. This is the perfect role for someone with a strong grounding in transactional finance who is now eager to build their exposure to management accounts and progress towards a more senior finance position.
Working closely with a highly supportive Financial Controller, you'll be given the mentorship, training and hands-on experience needed to develop into a future key member of the finance team. This role is viewed as part of the company's long-term succession planning, making it an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking for genuine career progression.
The Role
As Assistant Management Accountant, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function while gradually taking on more responsibility around month-end and management reporting.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Accruals and prepayments
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
- Maintaining purchase and sales ledger activities
- Bank reconciliations and cash flow support
- Assisting with VAT returns
- Producing financial reports and analysis for senior management
- Supporting process improvements across the finance function
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has at least 2 years' experience within an accounts/finance function
- Possesses a solid understanding of transactional finance processes
- Is keen to develop management accounting skills
- Is studying towards AAT, ACCA or CIMA, or interested in beginning studies
- Has strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude
- Enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive team environment
