Job Description
Whether you’re newly qualified or have experience, we are seeking a reliable and skilled Class 2 driver with a current driver CPC to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries whilst adhering to all safety regulations. Experience with flatbed driving is highly desirable, as this role may involve the transportation of various types of loads.
We are a small family-type company and operate Monday to Friday with early starts delivering for our customers across the country. There may be occasional nights out with additional recompense. Minimum age 25 due to insurance cover.
Starting salary of approx. £31,000 for newly passed drivers with a 3-month review.
Experienced driver can expect a salary up to £36k.
25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
Christmas closure.
We will consider a part-time role for the right candidates.
Responsibilities
• Operate a lorry in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring compliance with traffic laws and regulations.
• Load and unload goods, securing loads properly to prevent damage during transit.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, including logs of driving hours and vehicle maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to safety and operational efficiency.
Skills & Qualifications
• Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role.
• Commercial driving experience, with a valid HGV licence.
• Familiarity with flatbed operations is preferred, though training may be provided for the right candidate.
• A strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety protocols is advantageous.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail are necessary for managing deliveries effectively.
