Tax Semi-Senior

Overview

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Semi-Senior to join their growing tax team. The successful candidate will support the preparation and review of tax compliance work for a varied portfolio of clients, while assisting senior staff with advisory projects and client management.

This role is ideal for someone with practice experience who is progressing through professional qualifications and looking to develop their technical knowledge and client-facing skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare personal, partnership, and corporation tax returns accurately and within deadlines
  • Assist with tax planning and advisory assignments for individuals and businesses
  • Liaise directly with clients to gather information and resolve queries
  • Support senior team members with HMRC correspondence and investigations
  • Review bookkeeping and financial information relevant to tax computations
  • Ensure compliance with current UK tax legislation and filing requirements
  • Maintain accurate client records and workflow management systems
  • Assist junior staff where required and contribute to team development
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional communication

Requirements

  • Previous experience within an accountancy practice or tax environment
  • Good working knowledge of UK tax compliance
  • Studying towards or part-qualified ACA, ACCA, ATT, or CTA
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and tax/accounting software

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with owner-managed businesses and personal tax clients
  • Exposure to tax advisory work
  • Knowledge of cloud accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks
