The Role: Panel Technician

As a Panel Technician, you’ll carry out high‑quality panel repair and replacement work to manufacturer, Thatcham, and insurance standards—ensuring our customers’ vehicles are restored to the highest level. You’ll also use your expertise to identify any additional faults and support the wider Bodyshop team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete panel repairs and replacements following approved methods and standards.
  • Work to Thatcham, manufacturer, insurance, and company guidelines on every repair.
  • Carry out test welds and record results before commencing structural work.
  • Prepare repaired areas to a high standard, including body filler application and finishing.
  • Accurately record and report any additional parts needed for the repair.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping, ensuring a safe and efficient workspace.
  • Protect vehicles during the repair process (masking, covers, protective sheeting, etc.).
  • Store parts safely—ensuring re‑useable items are protected from damage.
  • Immediately report any damage not listed on the job card to the Estimator/Production Manager.
  • Check PPE daily and maintain weekly safety logs.
  • Follow all Health & Safety and COSHH guidelines.
  • Carry out all repair work in line with BS 10125 standards.

About You

  • Ideally IMI/ATA‑qualified with strong Bodyshop or accident repair experience.
  • High attention to detail and committed to delivering excellent workmanship.
  • Strong team player who thrives in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Able to prioritise, multitask, and maintain quality under pressure.
  • Excellent customer‑focused mindset.
  • Full UK driving licence is preferred.

Hours of Work

  • Monday to Friday
  • 8.5‑hour shift (daytime)
