Why this role would be great for you
Stepping Stones is s step up support service for people who are experiencing mental health crisis who stay with us for up to 7 days. We are looking for a passionate, adaptable, confident, approachable and understanding Team leader to provide an additional level of operational leadership in the service that ensures that staff are supported to grow and develop within their role. You will support the Service Manager to carry out their duties in delivering a service of excellence.
What your week may look like
Supporting the manager with managing the team at Stepping Stones undertaking regular supervisions, team meetings and staff support (day and night teams)
Working flexible shifts across days and evenings to support the whole team
Providing professional support and advice to the team
Supporting with management of referrals to service and maintain excellent relationships with key referrers
Coaching the whole team to deliver a person-centred service using psychologically informed techniques
Putting into practice the values and the strategic aims of You Matter, and coach and develop the team to implement change and to do the same
Delivering effective communication across the staff team offering mentoring and support
Maintaining excellent communication with You Matter wider Management team
Leading on the monitoring and reporting of Serious Incidents, Safeguarding and Health & Safety for the service and report back to OLT (operational leadership team)
Completing regular case file audits and providing feedback and support to the team
Contributing to monthly reports for KPIs
To be able to identify training gaps within the support team and support the manager in addressing any unmet needs.

The skills we are looking for:
EXPERIENCE –
Experience of supporting individuals with complex needs, including mental health, substance misuse and housing instability
Demonstrable leadership or supervisory experience
Experience of multi-agency and partnership working (e.g. Mental Health, Social Care)
Experience of risk assessment and safety planning
Experience managing incidents, maintenance or health and safety concerns
Experience leading or supporting a staff team in a high-risk environment
Strong administrative and case-recording skills
KNOWLEDGE –
Understanding of trauma-informed and person centred practice
Knowledge of safeguarding
Understanding of complex needs including mental health, substance misuse and offending
COMMUNICATION –
Demonstrable verbal and written communication skills
Excellent communication, engagement and interpersonal skills
Ability to build rapport with colleagues and people we work alongside
Confident using Microsoft Word, Outlook and Windows-based systems
Experience of case management or recording systems

What is a nice to have
Qualification in Health and Social Care, Mental Health or other relevant subject
Experience working in a customer facing role and a desire to support people to make a positive impact/change in their lives
Experience of working within a psychologically informed working environment
Knowledge of housing management and IT databases
Awareness of benefits and how they work including Universal Credit and other welfare systems
