HLTA Location: Halewood, Merseyside Days: Full time (Monday–Friday) TeacherActive are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary academy in Halewood to recruit a committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team. This is a varied and rewarding role, ideal for someone confident in maths and passionate about supporting young people with additional needs. The Role Monday & Friday: Delivering maths lessons to students, following a broad and engaging curriculum
Tuesday–Thursday: Providing Learning Support Assistant (LSA) cover across the school
Supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom to promote progress, engagement, and positive behaviour
Working closely with teaching staff and the wider support team to meet individual pupil needs
About the School The academy is a small, supportive secondary setting with a strong focus on inclusion, personal development, and positive relationships. Staff work collaboratively to create a calm, structured environment where pupils feel safe, understood, and motivated to succeed. The school places high value on consistency, clear routines, and tailored support for learners who need it most. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Experience teaching or supporting maths up to Key Stage 4 (desirable)
Confidence delivering engaging and accessible maths lessons
A good understanding of how to manage challenging behaviour positively and effectively
Experience working with pupils with SEMH, ASC, and ADHD (desirable)
HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
