Position: Year 2 General Teaching Assistant
Hourly Rate: £14.25 – £15.00 per hour
Start Date: September 2026

About the School
A well-regarded primary school in the Childwall area (L16) is looking to appoint a General Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. The school has an excellent reputation within the local community and has been graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted.
They take great pride in providing a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for their pupils. This is reflected throughout the school, including a progressive curriculum designed to meet a wide range of learning needs, including pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
With approximately 200 pupils on roll, the school offers a friendly, close-knit atmosphere where strong relationships between staff and pupils are central to its ongoing success.
The Role
As a General Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning within the classroom. Working closely alongside the class teacher, you will also assist with the day-to-day organisation and management of the learning environment.
This role would suit someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for working with children
- Is enthusiastic about supporting pupil development
- Is keen to gain valuable classroom experience and develop their skill set
Previous experience within Key Stage 1 (KS1) and knowledge of phonics would be beneficial, though not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
