Transport/Project Support

Job Description

Dams have been providing furniture solutions since the 1960s and is one of the UKs leading manufacturers and suppliers of office furniture, employing over 350 people from our site in Knowsley.

Due to an internal promotion, the Transport department are looking for a skilled, motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the team as Transport/Project support at our Knowsley site.

Working within the transport department, you will contribute to the success of thetransport operation with responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Ensure that the quality of service provided from Dams is maintained at the highest possible standards.
  • Co-ordinate with internal departments regarding projects ensuring required expectations are met.
  • Liaise with client(s) ensuring clarity for each Project and manage the relationship and customers expectations.
  • Track project performance and meet budgetary goals.
  • Develop project plans to be shared with both clients and internal teams.
  • Focus the team to deliver on time in Full and exceed customer satisfaction and expectation.
  • Support with risk assessments and method statements pre information.
  • To be aware of your own responsibilities for Health & Safety, operate in a safe manner complying with all health, safety, and environmental requirements to ensure own and safety of others.
  • Route vehicles based on delivery requirements.
  • Accurate and timely completion of operational paperwork including Inputting data regarding milage hours worked, holidays and distance work.
  • Raise rectifications and liaise with customers on first time resolution.
  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required from time to time.

To join the team, you will need:

  • Experience of working in a transport office route planning and all relevant systems (Desirable)
  • Excellent attention to detail with good numeracy and IT skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team, with a flexible can do attitude to work.
  • Ability to work accurately and methodically whilst under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment, working flexibly to meet business needs.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages and ability to adapt to bespoke systems.
  • Strong customer service skills and a competent decision maker/problem solver.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle compliance weights/pay loads.
  • Strong understanding of all transport functions.
